Daily Reflection (Easter Day)

Pasg Hapus!

Happy Easter!

A warm greeting to everyone! We know this daily reflection is now being sent out across Conwy and the Conwy Valley, but also to other parts of the UK and all around the world: we greet you this day in the joy and peace of the risen Christ. We would love to develop this sense of on-line community. So, as Easter extends beyond today – would you like to take a picture of yourself (or yourselves), where you are reading the daily reflection? Send your picture via this link with a ‘Happy Easter’ greeting and we will include these as ‘postcards’ to share with everyone in the coming days.

This morning’s reflection begins with the start of the Gospel of John’s account of the Resurrection of Christ, accompanied by images of the sunrise many of us have previously enjoyed at dawn services in the ancient, hilltop church of St. Celynnin. But this is not an invitation to look back. Reverend David Parry invites us to look forward in the sure and certain hope of a new beginning.

“If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new! All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself, and God gave us the work of telling everyone about the peace we can have with him.”

2 Corinthians 5: 17-18   New Century Version

“Pan mae rhywun yn dod yn Gristion mae wedi’i greu yn berson newydd: mae’r hen drefn wedi mynd! Edrychwch, mae bywyd newydd wedi cymryd ei le! A Duw sy’n gwneud y cwbl – mae wedi gwneud heddwch rhyngon ni ag e’i hun drwy beth wnaeth y Meseia. Ac mae wedi rhoi’r gwaith i ni o rannu’r neges gyda phobl eraill.”

Prayer

God has given us new birth into a living hope.
By the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Lord of all life and power,
who through the mighty resurrection of your Son
overcame the old order of sin and death to make all things new in him:
grant that we, being dead to sin and alive to you in Jesus Christ,
may reign with him in glory;
to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be praise and honour, glory and might,
now and in all eternity.
Amen.

Alleluia Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
May God bless us,
and keep us from all evil,
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

Gweddi

Parodd Duw ein geni ni o’r newydd i obaith bywiol.
Trwy atgyfodiad Iesu Grist oddi wrth y meirw.

Arglwydd pob bywyd a nerth,
gorchfygaist hen drefn pechod a marwolaeth drwy atgyfodiad nerthol dy Fab
er mwyn gwneud pob peth yn newydd ynddo ef:
caniatâ i ni, sy’n farw i bechod,
ac yn fyw i ti yn Iesu Grist,
deyrnasu gydag ef mewn gogoniant;
bydded iddo gyda thi a’r Ysbryd Glân glod a moliant,
gogoniant a gallu, yn awr ac yn dragwyddol.
Amen.

Alelwia! Atgyfododd Crist.
Atgyfododd yn wir. Alelwia!

Bendithied Dduw ni,
cadwed ni rhag drwg,
a’n dwyn i fywyd tragwyddol.
Amen.
