You will go out in joy…
and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Isaiah 55:12

Above is an interactive plan of the pilgrim route taking in our 5 churches within the Bro Celynnin Ministry Area. For more detailed route map go to Outdoor Active or scan the QR code: https://out.ac/IihNNe

OS map users can access here: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/32997668/copy-of-llwybr-celynnin-caru-conwy-camino?lat=53.25073&lon=-3.92377&zoom=11.0373&overlays=os-obstacles-layer&style=Standard&type=2d
For historical information along the trail anyone can use their mobile phone to scan History Points QR codes at all five churches and other places of interest.
You can collect a ‘Pilgrim Stamp’ at each church in a specially designed pilgrim passport, creating a record of your journey through the valley. Local artist Hope O’Dell created the passport, while pupils from Ysgol Porth y Felin and Ysgol Llangelynnin designed the stamps used along the route.
Maps and Pilgrim Passports are available in each of the churches or email Revd Kevin Ellis.

“The creation of the Llwybr Celynnin is a welcome addition to the growing number of Welsh pilgrimage routes. It is not so long since pilgrimage was considered to be rather a niche activity. That is no longer the case. More and more people are discovering the soul restoring benefits of wandering and pondering, of quieting our restless thoughts by being intentionally present within the gift of creation. This new path, encompassing five ancient places of worship in the Conwy Valley, promises to reward anyone prepared to take that first step.”
Chris Potter, husband of the late Jenny Potter, who – inspired by the experience of walking the Camino with her husband Chris – re-established a pilgrimage route across North Wales from Basingwerk Abbey to Bardsey Island, the North Wales Pilgrim’s Way.
Thanks also to Karin Bruns, a keen walker, whose vision has been the inspiration behind this project.
