Every day, the Bro Celynnin Ministry Team will be praying for you. Every day, we will share an image, reflection and prayer with you. Please let others know that they can contact us over the phone, via email or the e-form on the website, and please share on social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

Today’s reflection is from Reverend Susan Blagden, which comes with all our prayers:-

Psalm 25
To you O Lord, I lift up my soul: O my God, in you I trust:
let me not be put to shame…
Turn to me and be gracious to me:
for I am alone and brought very low.
The sorrows of my heart have increased:
O bring me out of my distress.

Atat ti Arglwydd: y dyrchafaf fy enaid;
O fy Nuw, ynot ti yr wyf yn ymddiried…
Tro ataf, a bydd drugargog wrthyf:
Oherwydd unig ac anghenus wyf fi.
Esmwytha gyfyngder fy nghalon
A dwg fi allan o’m hadfyd.

This psalm is set for today and reminds us of the timeless relevance of God’s word. It gives us permission to name our sorrows – those things which sadden us; maybe time or experiences that we have lost and therefore grieve. It also gives us permission to importantly acknowledge our distress in such times of uncertainty. Being specific with God about our sorrows and distress is helpful to us. What do you need to name before God today?

The psalm also encourages us to lift up our souls and our spirits to God. The reason we do this is that our hope is in God. This hope is born of the certainty that God loves us and His love will support us and lead us through the valley to a land of goodness. Take a moment to lift your eyes from the frightening/sad details of life today and allow God’s love to enfold you.

Prayer
Eternal light, shine into our hearts,
Eternal goodness, deliver us from evil,
Eternal power, be our support.
Eternal wisdom, scatter the darkness of our ignorance,
Eternal pity, have mercy upon us;
That with all our heart and mind and soul and strength, we may seek your face
And be brought by your infinite mercy to your holy presence;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Gweddi
Oleuni tragwyddol, llewyrcha i’n Colonna,
Ddaioni tragwyddol, gwared ni rhag drwg
Nerth tragwyddol, cynnal ni,
ddoethineb tragwyddol, gwasgara dywyllwch ein hanwybodaeth
Dosturi tragwyddol, trugarha wrthym;
Fel y ceisiom dy wyneb a’n holl galon ac a’n holl feddwl, ac a’n holl enaid ac an holl nerth,
A’n dwyn gan dy drugaredd ddiderfyn i’th wyddfod sanctaidd:
Trwy Iesu Grist ein Harglwydd.  Amen.
