Join our Volunteer Visitor Welcome Team

St. Mary’s Conwy needs you! Preparations are underway for our visitors season, which will begin during Easter Week and continue through to the end of September. Could you volunteer your time to join our brilliant Visitor Welcome team welcoming tourists and visitors to our historic church?

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone hoping to do some volunteering, especially history lovers who will find a wealth of stories and history on this ancient site (psst, it’s older than the castle!).

Last year, St. Mary’s saw around 18,000 visitors come through her doors, with visitors from as far away as Japan, America, Australia, and all across Europe, as well as closer to home with lots of day trippers and weekenders from Wales and the rest of the UK. We also welcomed a troupe of Polish Boy Scouts, who shared their incredible history, attended a concert at the Classical Music Festival, and helped unpack our Bags of Love food stocks. No day is the same, and our programme genuinely offers opportunities to meet people from all walks of life, and share truly special moments you’ll remember for a lifetime- not to mention join a wonderful, supportive team, and make life-long friends.

So why not give us a go? Opening hours are 11am-3pm Tuesday to Saturday, with two shifts of two hours each per day. You’ll only ever do as many hours as you like, with your pick of days and times, and full training is provided. The Season starts on 26th March and runs to the end of September.

Get in touch via the link below if you’d like to be part of this exciting programme.
