Online prayer consider charities in the run up to lent

In their latest mini-series, our Monday online prayer group will consider a different Christian charity each week, with guest speakers. This week, it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome back Gwen, daughter of David and Eryl, who will join the group all the way from Zambia to present Impact One Initiative. Read what she has to say about this wonderful charity below.

“[Impact One] are a small charity based in Lusaka, Zambia but they have a huge impact in the work that they do. Essentially they partner with community schools (primary schools without government support but also serving very poor communities, so lacking resources and often their only staff are untrained volunteer teachers) to create support networks, train teachers, train the directors who run the schools, and help them to create sustainable sources of revenue outside of the limited income they can get from school fees. They also have a library where schools can bring their children for literacy activities and borrow books/other learning resources. The library is also open to the general public once a week and they can have more than 800 local children come on that day alone!”

The group will consider how charitable work can be done in a local, sustainable way, and with a gentle, practical discipleship. If you’d like to find out more, then do join us online this Monday evening, 7pm, using the link below. Alternatively, you can log on to Zoom and join the meeting with these details:
